Times ticking on and we're soon gonna be leaving this sit, so its time to start tidying things up, putting things away ready for the return of Brett, Janelle, and Jade.
Floors being moped and polished, lawn cut yet again (fuc*ing thing wont stop growing), trailer being reloaded. Now with all the stuff we've dumped, tent, tent poles, sleeping bag, Quilt,(yes, a full size double quilt) You'd think we'd have room to spare. Not a hope in hell, Lin's been shopping....... God knows what she's been buying but we're still having to use the roof rack on the trailer and its a full load.
I wonder if she's remembered that we have to make an itemised list for customs. At least I'll know what we've been buying. Well that's about the extent of the day, dust this, and polish that. Might be boring for you, but a bloody busy day for us.......
Sorry no piccies, we were just too busy and didt stop all day..

26th Dec, Row and Alan to the rescue, Rochdale
Now due to the time difference, we get a TEXT message at two thirty in the morning from the girls asking to Skype, (thanks girls). For the last year they were going over to Steven's for Christmas dinner, but due to unforeseen stuff?????? that just hasn't happened, the offer of Christmas dinner had to be postponed, leaving them no where to go for Christmas so they planed to have a small lunch on their own.. Now I think Row must have sat on her wand and got it stuck up her ar*e, changing her from the wicked witch of the West, to the good fairy..... (Yea, like I can really see the old bat as a fairy). Not only has she some how managed to broker a peace between the girls, she's also got them round, with her family, for a slap up Christmas dinner, hence the request for Skyping at such an ungodly hour. I think it was just to prove no one had killed anyone and it was all true. Well, seeing is believing and even with me eyes propped open and me bladder ready to burst, we could see just how happy the girls are. All I can say is thank you Row, Alan, Lou and Jamie, some debt's cant be repaid and may the wand stay well and firmly stuck. (Row, if you print this off and have it framed, I'll burn ya house down)..... So two (now very happy) parents can go back to bed and try and get a good nights sleep.......... what's left of it.
OK, the moods definitely lifted, Lin wants to go check out the shopping centre. Even back home, we never went to the Boxing day sales, but due to the problems of the last few days, we haven't been out and have started to get a little stir crazy. A quick walk with the dog and Lin picks the centre she wants to visit and we're off. I think the sales here are pretty much the same as at home, Bedlam, But I ain't daft, I took me e-reader, This makes life simple. I find somewhere comfy to plonk me bum and read, Lin buggers off to wander the shops without me. This system works well as long Lin remembers where I am and to bring the occasional coffee.... So far, so good, but she's gonna loose me sooner or later, I just know it....
Two hour, five chapters and two coffees later and Lin's back, and it seems we're at the wrong shopping centre and could we please, please take a trip to the massive, huge, big centre that's only another twenty minutes away. It's only as I hear meself say "yea, no problem" that I realise just how chilled that skype thing with the girls made me. So if we come home broke, you know who I'm gonna punch...
Sorry peops no piccies, too busy shopping lol.......

25th Dec Its so not Christmas, Rochdale
For those who think it counts, Happy Christmas, cos it just ain't Christmas for us.... and it feels it......
I suppose a bit of "We really want to be at home with the family at this time of year" has set in. Our Christmas is gonna happen as soon as we can arrange it after we get home, till then, its just the twenty fifth and we ain't even bothering to get dressed, pizza for dinner, a swim in the pool and have a go at getting square eyes in front of the TV and that's it. Happy 25th everyone..
Red sky in the morning......is it a warning???
Well we manage to take Kira to the new doggie park... no dogs off leads anywhere in this shire.... it just aint allowed and if caught you get a $1000 fine...., so this 'doggie' park is excellent and means she can have a free run (legally)..
ME and her ahhhhhhh.... on chrissie day, as you can see theres no dressing up done to celebrate!
Well guys, hope you all have a lovely day and enjoy your turkey cuz weve got Pizza lol ...
HAPPY CHRISTMAS to you all xx

24th Dec, A day in the life... Rochdale
So, its the day before the 25th and you wouldn't know it out here. About the only clue ya get is from the TV, yea, the ad's and the odd movie. The streets and shopping centres are bare, save for the occasional few notes of "dreaming of a white Xmas" which is a joke in itself, when ya think the temp at the moment is around the mid thirty's. So what do the Ozzie's do on the 24th?, shopping?, no. Have a lie in?, no. Big family breakfast, not a chance. At seven in the morning, it sounds worse than a building site. Every able bodied man is out in the garden with some sort of power tool, and it has to be petrol.
Mowers going like the clappers, 'whipper snappers' (strimmers) sounding like someone just poked a dozen bee's nests and of course ya cant forget the petrol blower and hedge trimmers. The sound comes from all directions, everyone must be at it. Lin recons its just people getting ready for party's tomorrow, I think its just an Ozzie "bloke" thing........If its got a petrol engine on it, they want to play with it, and if it ain't got an engine on it. Its the wife's (good luck kids)....
The store's tell the same story. A HUGE range of petrol gardening equipment and maybe one or two electric (they have office workers out here to ya know). I'll cut the grass later, yea, I know I cut it a few days ago, but its rained since then and grown four inches, but its just too early in the morning for me, I ain't had me coffee and I cant get me eyes open enough to be able to find the toilet door (Lin's getting a bit fed up with the puddles, I just tell her its age).
The day starts with a dip in the pool and a couple of rounds of toast, (we were gonna have bacon sarnies, but Lin polished off a whole kilo of bacon and we ain't got none left). Its just another day, The lawn gets a going over, the dog gets to do a bit of post sniffing and puddle making round the dog park and Lin spends lots of time on the phone to the UK. This travelling lark is just the best, but when theres problems, its the worst.
I don't believe it!, Witchy poo has cast a spell over the kids and it seems that the head banging is now not a must, just a maybe. Its like WW1 all over again and a truce has been call over Christmas. Well I suppose it is a time of peace and I hope our girls just give it a go. Ya never know, they might just get to like it...

23rd Dec, The joys of parenthood, Rochdale
Oh great, we get a call at seven this morning, Problems at home....... What is it with kids? why cant they play nice? Are all parents doomed to forever try to keep their kids from tearing each others throats out, after all, that's my job. Lin spends the next forever on the phone trying to sort things out, but what the hell can ya do from a million miles away.? Not gonna say no more bout this, but looks like a bit of head bangings gonna happen when we get back.....
No piccies, spent day on phone...

22nd,Dec, Life's never dull, Rochdale
We're off to meet the people and the dogs for our last sit this morning, normally we only meet them the night before we take over and in the morning, they bugger off and leave us to it, but for some reason they want to meet us before they go. Fair enough, their house, their dogs, why not?
The couple are Bernadette and Brian, the dogs are Lucy (a dalmation) and Paris (a poodle) Bernadette and Brian seem to be a nice, down to earth couple, (she's a teacher, him a journalist) and we start by being introduced to Lucy who sees very pleased to meet us. Bernadette go's on to explain that Paris aint here at the moment, she's being kept in at the vet's co's a couple of day ago the two dogs had a bit of a spat and lucy chomped the front of Paris's face, breaking the face bone. The dog has now got it's face all bandaged up and will have to be fed through a tube, (by now I can see Lin thinking "Oh Fu*k!") But not to worry, ''Lucy is normally a very friendly dog and only go's ape sh*t over food''. This is because she has a heart problem, is on a strict diet and could drop dead at any moment and if she does, the neighbour knows where they want her buried. By now Lin's got this strange look on her face and I'm thinking Oh fu*k!. Turns out, both dogs are sh*t scaried of thunder and could we check the weather forcast before we make plans to go out and leave um. All the talk of the dogs out the way, we get the run down on the house (a very nice house). Now the house is set on poles and in in a semi rural spot, on an acre and half of land, it also seems they get ''quite a few snakes here, but not to worry, most of um are pythons and don't bite'' (yea, right) but they do get the odd brown back and we're advised not to go down the end of the garden unless we wear wellies, but most of all, if we do find one, don't try to pick it up, (like thats really gonna happen).
As I said, This is our last sit before we come home. Looks like it could be one hell of a way to end a trip.
We went shopping on the way home, but after the mornings outing, it was just boring. ahhhhh.
John And Kira have a play when we get home...
Still playing......
