Now all we've got to look forward to is the ten hour flight to our next stop. Ok, so this was one of them low cost flights, yea I understand that, but once on board the only thing ya didn't pay for was the loo and that's only cos no one wanted to clean up the mess. .....The meals were six bucks each, they even charged ya to rent a tablet to watch the movie on, so now we're on a ten hour flight with no movie, great. Now every flight comes with a moany kid, not this one. There's some little Fuc*er a couple rows up and his really getting into it, so much so, the three people behind asked to be moved and I really don't blame um. The kids got a pair of lungs an opera singer would be proud of. The little sh*t starts off as we get seated and manages to keep it going long after we get into the air, all I can think of is "all it would take is a good bash against the wall and job done", so much for being kid friendly, (ya had to be there). All through the flight the bugger wouldn't give up, even Lin suggested he go play in the outside playground....
So after a very long and boring ten hour flight, we touched down in Kuala Lumpa (KL) bang on time, all that remains is to pick up our luggage, get through customs and find our hotel. First the luggage which consists of the two huge washing bags Lin just cant do without, (I've just got me backpack). So as soon as we reach the baggage reclaim the bags appear. I grab one and pull it off, grab the other and the handle snaps, now I can see this is gonna be fun. Stick the bags on a trolley and sail through customs.
As soon as we go through the doors of the Airport, it hits ya, the heat and the bedlam. It's a really damp heat and two steps out the door and yer arms make a squishing sound as they swing. I cant really describe the mayhem outside, stall's, people, cars, vans and buse's. If Romford was like this on a Saturday, we'd all shop on-line, the place is just crazy.
We make our way over to our bus, (Lin's got it all worked out), stow the luggage and climb on board only to find we haven't got our ticket stamped, (fuc*k it)!!!! A few words with Lin and he's soon put she soon puts him straight and all's ok, (we are of course, British)..... As the bus finally gets going, we spark up conversation with the Ozzie guy in front 'Howard' who turns out, he visits Asia quite a lot and uses 'KL' as a jumping off point. It's not long before he's pointing out this and that and is becoming quite a good guide. It just happens he's got a hotel round the corner from us and is willing to show us where our hotel is.Thank God he did, we wouldn't have had a clue.....
After we got off the bus we had to get on a train, from the train we had to walk to the hotel through the night market. I've got me backpack on and trying to carry Lin's goody bag with the broken handle and Lin's struggling along with the other bag, all this in thirty degrees of soggy heat and what seems to be rush hour (turns out to be normal). We follow Howard up and down stairs, through crowded streets, until he stops in the middle of the market and says, "right I think your just down there" so with the promise to meet up later for dinner, he disappears off to get himself checked in. Sure enough, a couple of hundred yards down the road is the ChinaTown2 hotel. We check in and are soon up in the room. Its at this point I realise Lin has become a hardened traveller. I lift a stool and a cockroach runs out. Lin just go's " you bugger" and stamps on it, that's my girl.... As hotels in this area go, this ones pretty good. Its got a TV, bed, shower and Loo. To say it's a bit drab would be an insult to drab. But its safe, cool, cheep and a base, Just what we want.
Quick showers and sort ourselves out, and its off to meet Howard for dinner. We find him waiting for us a little down the road, disappointed that the place he wanted to take us to is closed for the day. Never mind, we have a beer and order dinner where we are. Crab noodles for me, satay chicken for Lin, chicken rice for Howard and bloody good food it was to..... After chatting for a while, we say our goodbyes and have a short wander round the market. We're both knacked and it ain't long before we're back in the room and in the land of nod.
The piccies...
Yes we are in the right departure lounge now lol... (we sat in domestics for an hour.. and would still be sat there now if the nice lady on the bagguette counter had not explained to me...)
Just the two of us... and yes he does wear that hat all the time ....( I think its his age...)
Bye John lol....
Ahhh and here we are... all buckled up and ready to fly...(this was before the kid with the big gob got on and started... ( I cant believe I just said that...hahahahaaha)
Up in the air and WE are on our way...yippppppeeeeeeeeeeeeee
And then we land and have to get ourselves, our bags and back packs through this lot... Oh JOY!!!
More bloody dragons... I dont believe this... it started with Dragons (no not me... I mean the chinese new year kind...) in Singapore and looks like it will end with dragons... Year of the snake on its way apparently!!!!
and here we are right in the middle of the night market, in one of the most famous streets in Malaysia and our hotel is dead bang in the middle of the lot....and staying in Chinatown2.
