8th Jan, Parting of the ways, Alexandra Hills

The bike and trailer go off to the shipping agent for creating and shipping today. Lin will lead the way in the car, I'll follow on the bike. The last few things are getting packed, the things we wont be needing go in the trailer, clothes, in the pannier bags and into the panniers. Lin, (me trusty navigator) ain't taking no chances, not only has she set the Sat-nav, she's also printed off directions from Google.
Its a great day for a drive, the sun's shining with not a cloud in the sky, tee shirt and shorts are the order of the day, (ain't worn jeans for nearly a year) radio on and it feels great to be back on the bike. Its fine to have the use of a car from time to time, but it just cant beat the feeling of being out in the open and part of the landscape.
Things go well for the first fifteen or twenty minutes, then we stop at a set of lights. I can see Lin through the back window tapping away on the sat-nav, then looking down at the directions. Off we go again, at the next set of lights, same thing. First garage we come to, Lin's indicating in. Now I know I don't need juice and the cars got plenty,Yep, we're got a sat-nav and Google directions and we're lost, somehow we've missed our turn off by seven K's, so back we go with Lin smacking the sat-nav every few minutes.........(I really know how she feels about that thing). It's a forty minute drive, so we get there in an hour and half, but its been great to be back on the bike so I couldn't give a toss. We park up, check in and meet Penny our shipping agent who smiles a lot as she whips the credit card through the machine, parting us from a bucket full of bucks. Getting the bike out here was painful, getting it home hurts just as much. So with the credit card now so much lighter it floats, we make our way down to the car park for the last few photos of the bike out in Oz. That's the last we're gonna see of the bike until we pick her up back in the UK. I know the Adventure goes on, but it feels like the end of something, not quite sure what...

John wheels Ruby round ready for her to be plonked onto the bikes tow bar.......

Last few bits and bobs being packed...cor.... if I had known there was going to be spare room I'd of shopped a bit more lol.....

Ok, all packed and ready to rock and roll...

John signs the shipping papers and pays the bill... ouch !

`Really??? I think he's delearious...

Ok, Bye Bye Ruby, see you in March.

There she is all parked up, over by the orange spot..

And thats it for today..... Bike gone so its off back to the house in Bernadettes car and with John driving, so no getting lost drama's....
