Cor, we've really been bit, spent most of the night scratching this and scratching that. Lin got a pen and joined some of the bites together and got a pretty good picture of the Isle of White. I think one of the buggers must have got up the leg of me shorts, co's now I've got three nuts and one likes a good scratch.
8.00am and we're both outside the tent. At least the mossies have called it a night and gone home to sleep off the good feed they've had,.. It's bacon wedges for us, made in the camp kitchen, showers and a tidy round, a quick squirt of the pound shops bite relief and it's off to see the penguins at the sanctuary.
The call comes, Billee's cat Alfie's had a bit of an accident and needs urgent medical assistance. Row to the rescue. It must be one in the morning back home but there she is, sorting out Billee and running the cat to the vet. Even paid the first instalment for the operation (ain't getting that back) Billee's happy, the cat's gonna be fine and wonder woman finally gets to bed. We can relax once again and get back to looking for the makers of the chocolate biscuit. The views out there are stunning, which is just as well, co's the penguins have gone into hiding. Managed to see a few on the rocks and I found if you kicked their nesting box's, the little bleeders soon made an appearance, The seals seem to know better and stayed right out on the rocks, well one did, the rest had all bugged off. With the photos done, its back to camp to regroup.
Right, into town (Cowes) along the beach of course. I forget to bring the rope to tie Lin's hands together, so the walk takes an age. I get, Oooo take a look at this one, look at the pretty colours on these. Now, I've been told this walk should take about twenty minuets, hour an a half later, we finally make it.
Off we go, straight to our favourite coffee shop and people watch for an hour or so (and nick as much sugar as we can get away with..........) pockets full of sugar, we head off to the supermarket for tonight's tea, gonna do omelet's, so we ain't got to much to carry back. Back to the camp and cheese and tomato omelet's it is.
The lights fading and we're preparing for the mossie onslaught, insect repellent, bite spray and mossie killer. Sorted. Into the tent and baton down the hatches. Lets see if the little f**kers get through that!!!
The beach at Cowes ever we stayed , quiet and pretty as always..
If you look closely you might just see the little baby penguin, nesting. And actually 'he' did not kick any nesting boxes, cuz I would have kicked him lol !!!!!!!!
Me and him, ahhhhhh xxx
Two seals sat out at sea. The sea around the sanctuary is rough and unforgiving, but still beautiful. This si still all on phillip Island and part of the Bass coast.
Hey, Daniel, can you see what this wooden duck is called???. We laughed and laughed and just had to take the piccie, (sorry) still it shows we had not forgotten you xx
The baby penguins on parade after a hard days fishing, bless... Hi Ho, hi ho ...
