Wednesday 22nd February, Princetown, Point Campbell and neighbours

I knew it, We're wrapping up and moving on. Last night wasn't too bad, but Lin won't use the dunny, instead, she made good use of the empty pot noodle pot we had last night. (her aim is something to be admired).  Not only that, there seems to be a sound of flys, we can't see em, but we sure can hear em....... really loud.... So, that doe's it and we're packing up.

Tony and Kevin (not an Item) are off to, and get a head start. Kevin around 8.30 (he's 72) and Tony around 9.00am. Believe me, it didn't take us long to get things together, and we're gone around 9.15. I think it's the earliest we've been on the road. Off into town (Lorne) and we can finally use a "real" toilet. Right, we sit down and have a coffee, get ourselves together and decide were we off to next. Gonna do a pay site this time, Lin wants a flushing loo. Back on the bike and off along the Great Ocean Road. We're riding along this road, right beside the ocean (as the name suggests) and the sound of waves follows us along the journey, but the road also follows the coastline and that ain't straight.  Nail biting time again!!!!.
If the bike go's then we sail through the air, into the drink, and it aint a short drop either. Its not to long a drive this time, with one or two stops, it takes about two hours and we're turning into Princetown recreational centre.

First things first, check out the loo's and showers. Whoopee doo, their clean and they work, that's us, we're booking in. Just finished the paper work and heading out the door, when bugger me, Tony's pulling in with his wing and trailer. Seems he been down to take a look at the Twelve Apostles before heading up here. Small world ain't it?.  Right, up with the tent and that's just about right. We're on top of a hill and the winds just picked up. It not so much pitching a tent, as flying a huge kite. Lin's getting worried co's her feet keep lifting off the floor. The other campers are over in a heartbeat to lend a hand. (us travellers are a good bunch and help each other). With a helper on each corner, the tents up and kettles on. Over to see Tony, co's he's in a corner on his own (he didn't want power on his pitch) Didn't have to bother, when I get over he's all set up with a brew in his hand and just putting out a solar panel. (The stuff this guy's got in a three by four foot trailer is amazing). Everything sorted, we're off into town to pick up supplies, just a short run, twelve kilometres, Port Campbell. When we get there, we find co's its only a small place, that they've really hiked up the prices, four dollars on a packet of fags (making em £15), two dollars on butter, two dollars on cheese, etc, If I'm being robbed, I don't want to know it, this was blatant.

Back on the bike and off for another 18klm to a town with a supermarket. All told, I recon we saved fifty dollars on the shop. Back to the tent and start tea. Gonna have chilli and rice tonight, bit of a challenge on a one ring burner, but who dare's wins.  Must admit, one of the best chillies we've had for a long time. Just finished and Tony pops over. We sat drinking coffee and talking till the light fades. He's off tomorrow and we're gonna stay put for a day or so. Tony decides its time for bed and off he go's. It's been another long day, so it's not long before we're lying in the sleeping bag, listening to the wind rattle the tent and the sound of the sea hitting the shore. Life ain't all that bad.

Our love to our Kids, who never leave our hearts and to Alfie who's costing a mint. (if he pops off while we're away, I want him stuffed...(He's only joking Billee, love Mumma ) Also our friends, who never far from our minds xx

On the Great Ocean Road, it goes for hundreds of miles, up and through mountains and down and round hills, valleys and towns. Nail biting stuff !!!!! ( for me anyway)

More Great ocean Road...

And more...

We arrive at Princetown and the tents up, with the help of some neighbours who stand on the edge of the tent , while we get the poles up and in.

Everything we own.... Our home from home.

The shower and loo blocks, all checked out

This ones for Kouy, (See I did take the pillow you gave me xxxx) , for you others this is our bedroom.....

And this is our neighbours (no not the ones who stood on the tent for us), there are a couple of hundred of Roo's in the field next to us. They come visiting at night and often run through the campsite. Ohhh the excitement.... I can tell you the tent is well closed and all the food away......I have no intention of coming face to face with one of these (Skippy they are not !!!!!!).
