Wednesday 4th April- we leave Mandurah and are off to Dawesvilles

We have agreed to arrive at the house around 3pm, so up we get about 8am, having laid awake for a while chatting. We are both nervous but also excited and pleased to finally be meeting Suzanne and Ian, whose house we will be staying at for a couple of months. We have spoken on the phone, texted each other, emailed and skyped but not yet fully met, so fingers crossed.

We have a quick breakfast, local wildlife lol invited NOT, but in they come.

Ross and Mel and Ross's son comes over as John is taking the son 'Damon' out on the gold wing. The lad is 11 and really lovely. So packing done,, Ross can't believe where we pack it all and appears well impressed with all the stuff and where it goes. He and Mel will be packing up today too, but only to move into a cabin on the same camp for a few days. We let on that the white garden chairs are borrowed and not ours lol...

Packing done,  Damons ride over, email addresses and good byes done and its off we go. We decide to have lunch at the Mandurah Forum (local shopping centre, bit like Lakeside but a lot smaller). They do a lovely Pork or beef roast dinner there, so tummys rumbling and we are ready for a 'third' roast. Lovely....
lunch eaten and we decide to walk around for a while ready to be on the road about 2pm for the 3pm meet at the house.

We take directions and still get lost!!!!, well some of the roads have changed, no they really have, The area we are in is being built up, so not all the roads show on the maps. We pull up outside a school and I take out map in. 'Blimey thats small' says the teacher, 'lets enlarge it for you'. They give us directions after some discussion on what is the right way.

Brilliant, here we are. Suzanne and Ian are on the balconies and immediately invite us straight in and for John to drive the bike straight up to the garage. All I can say is this house is BIG BIG BIG... and Suzanne and Ian are brill hosts. We are introduced to Suzananes Mum Demas who also has a flat under the house and her friend Wally, (Yes another chap called Wally). Demas has cooked us scones, jam and cream, yum yum. All is well with the world.

WE sit down and all chat and laugh for a couple of hours. Demas and Wally go down to the flat and we have dinner all cooked by Suzanne. Again we sit and chat and Ian sorts out how its all going to go. ~Brill, its all so good and easy, no worries... Suzanne is like me and likes to make things, she is also a very good embroiderer and machinist. I am very 'gel'. She says I can use her daughters machine, but hers is packed away ( it cost a mint !!!).

Chats over, agreements made, everything is cool and calm. We call it a day as its a been along one and off to 'bed'... yes bed we go. Its the first time we have not slept on the floor in weeks. But we have sort of got used to it. The bedroom is lovely and Suzanne and Ian are sleeping down in her mums flat for the nite.
So its good nite from us and good nite from them....

Here come the piccies.

The local Duck and her clan arrive for breakfast, her clan are just out of sight.

The 'preacher' arrives for breakfast, then leaves again....

Ethel the camp chicken, yes Chicken checks out brekkie from afar... don't blame her as Ross and John kept calling KFC at her lol.....

We are not sure what these are, but they came for brekkie too and quite liked a bit of pancake...

John looking pleased with himself. Breakfast done, birds fed, and  already to pack and then off we will go...

All packed and a view up the camp and a man on a mission lol.....
