12th February, South of Eden NSW

Up early cuz we want to make a start and breakfast is free. What a breakfast it is, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, fruit juice, pancakes/full English fry up, toast and homemade jams/ marmalade and as much tea and coffee as you can drink....... Now don't forget, we've been in a tent for the last few days, so believe me, we made the most of this opportunity and dug in. (You could almost see the look of regret on the owners face as Lin managed to get sparks from her spoon). Shame he hung around cuz I was gonna nick the homemade marmalade. (bloody good stuff)  lol. Breakfast out the way, we waddled off to finish packing, so with some regret (on our part), we said our goodbyes, get on the bike and off we go. The weathers overcast but spirits are high and bellies are full, so its back on paradise road (highway one).  The Oooo's and Arrrrrr's come quickly enough, but the signs that advise you to make plans in the event of a fire are a bit worrying.  What the hell, I'm not planing to burst into flames, so we carry on.  Its beautiful up in the mountains  (The Australian Alps) and after a while, we stop in the middle of nowhere, for a rest, stretch our legs and have a smoke. Its not long before that last slice of toast starts to make it self felt, so with a handful of tissues I'm heading into the woods. I've been warned about the spiders and snakes, so me eyes are peeled as I locate a rather well placed branch to lean against. no sooner than me shorts are round me ankles, and the first moans of "thank god for that" pass me lips. The flys just appeared for nowhere.  Now their not just interested in the little deposit I just made, but were it came from. You try wiping yer ar**, swating flys and pulling yer pants up at the same time, it aint funny. Not only that, but once me shorts are up, I can't help the feeling I've got a few stowaways. Sod all this, give me snakes anytime, no one said anything about the flys !!!!
I finally get back to the sound of "where the hell have you been and what do you keep looking down there for ???". Lifes full of surprises aint it. So with a final check for stowaways, its off we go again.
We finally reach Lake Entrance about four, and decide enoughs, enough and book into East beach camp site. An hour later, the tents up, trailers unpacked and we've got a brew on the go. It still amaze's me, how we can fill a four man tent, with the contence of a 2ft x 3ft trailer, but we do.

Enough from me, I'm off to check me shorts again.

We've left Eden and are now up in the Australian Alps. Just checkin all is well !!!!

Not a car in sight, you can drive for miles here and not pass anyone. Its vast, daunting and beautiful.

All is well and we are ready to set off again.

We miss our friends loads and the kids even more. Love to all John and Lin xxxxxx
