Thursday 9th March 2012 , we leave Wellington and arrive in Leasingham Village

Well I am now editor (Linda) for a few weeks while the Chief takes a well earned rest lol......

WE are up at 6.15am our time, as have promised to Skype Billee her time in the evening. These bloody time frames drive us mad. When you lot are bed we are up, when we are in bed you are full swing into the day ..... But we try, we really try to Skype as often as we can. So we are up, get coffee's and tea's and onto Skype we go.

Billeee looks and sounds great. She has Becky, Ashley and Joe round. And ......... And Billee has cooked creamed chicken and rice for all of them. The boys they buy the girls ice cream and waffles. Ahhhhhh how nice !!!!

So we are again relaxed as all is well at home with all the kids. Then up pops Emily as being on line and wanting to chat, so low and behold we finally get to speak to the Welfares lol.  Its 7.00am in the morning here and we are gassing away, they both look good and all is well in their home too.. we oohh and ahh at each other and laugh and giggle. They are polite and say that I look brown, ( well I am if you are not being to critical) I'm more on the well reddened side really, but hey ho., I will take 'brown, bronzed, you look well and best of all I love 'oh you have lost weight'' lol.... Ok Skpying done, we say our good byes and get ready to breakfast, shower, pack and move on.

Packing goes well, everything done, we say our goodbyes and are off on the road at 10am. A record !!!! and the packing is definately getting better (fair to say John does the packing).

Up, dressed and on the road..... Just the two of us......

We've been given a really scenic route by the parents of the Wellington park owner (Tammy), so off we go. First giggle comes as we drive past 'Minge Chapel', on Minge Court ( I know, I know the names of some of the places and the signage are truly wonderful), then on through to Murray Bridge town, past the sign that shows a picture of an anchor and it has a 'W' at the start and says don't drive like W*nchor', ( thats a government sign and one of the lesser rude ones hahaha) down through Mannum, Mount pleasant, Springton, Lyndoch, Tanuotada (to name but a few) . Its beautiful and makes the journey a real pleasure. I have to remind 'Smith Dundee' with the odd jab in the ribs that there are Police and speed limits here , (even if we don't pass or see another vehicle for several hours) and he does have to abide by the speed limits, but you know the boy..., sun, see, bike and road..... and off he bloody well goes. . I am just grateful I remain with my dierrre' sat on the bike and not on the road....its fair to say my grip has greatly improved.

Then we stop for a lovely Pizza and coffee lunch in Angaston, have a wander around. Oz is full of quilting and home made craft shops. I love em...  and then back on the bike.... we drive through the Barraso wine region all afternoon,  going through Niriiloopa,  Kapunda, Riverton, Saddleworth, Aubury etc etc.  Its lovely, the scenery, the roads, the vineyards.  If you wanted to stop and taste the wines you could at nearly every corner (we decided not to, I'm bad enough with a diet coke on ice, without wine too!!!).  We just keep driving, and yes we drove straight past the camp site, my navigation!!!! Poor John, down the road we go and eventually find somewhere to turn round. OK back the other way and yes there it is and so in we go.

The owner is nice and more less lets us choose our own site. Luckily all the water on site is mains water, so its drinkable.  The site is nice and clean and quite modern, but quiet when we arrive.
We are only here for one nite, so don't do a full unpack, just take out what we need.  So...... tent out, tent up, change into shorts and back on the bike we go and we're off to the nearest town which is Clare, as we need some bread and milk (what a team we are !!!!!).

Clare is a small town, its not bad, just not one of my favourites as it sort of lacks character. Its caught in between needing some TLC, being 1950's and new, modern...... Still we get the bits we need, jump back on the bike and back to camp. New arrivals have turned up while wee been out, so the camp is little busier, still very peaceful though. John has made best mates with the Camp dog 'Jazz' (a very fat, very loveable and old......... Golden Retriever), she lays by the pitch as we sort everything out, she seems to find the shady spots easy, unlike us....

We are going to have a lazy evening at Leasingham Village camp site and eat the left over Pizza from lunchtime, read, chat and just enjoy. Its a bank holiday (or long weekend as they call it here) weekend, so we've been advised by the site owner to be on the road early tomorrow and get to the next site and book on.

So there, tis done, my first blog for a while.

Smithy Dundee is sat next to me reading, smacking the flies as he does!!!, fag in hand, cold drink in chair holder and just chilling....... nothing fazes him.  Oh well onwards and upwards, here comes the piccies
(yes I am doing them as well, so enjoy... (if you please...)

The Barosa Valley, true beauty...

Angaston.. a lovely little town with and excellent Pizza restaurant called 40's that won Australia's best Pizza restaurant awards last year. Yes it was very Yum yum !!!

John catches one of the local mozzie,!!!!!! he won't be biting again...lol, ( actually we don't know what it is, but he was proud to catch it... Rock on Dundee.

We stop off at Gladstone, and I catch a train.... best I stick to the bike, don't think I can hang onto this one.!!!!!
