We arrived on the site all smiles and guess what,? the same receptionist that booked us in last time is on duty again. "hello", she says "you are back....""yep, we are back".
So tent up, pod unloaded and its off to the spud shed to get some much needed groceries..for dinner tonite and breakfast tomorrow. So its fillet steak tonite and pancakes and or egg on toast for breakfast tomorrow. There is still no email from the other guy, so we give that a miss and decide to forget it. We get all tucked up for the nite and decide to see what the weather is like for tomorrow.
We are up around 8am as usual, its sunny and quite nice , so we book in for another nite and decide to go off to the shops in Mandurah and the Foreshore for the day. Lovely day had, its back to site... there is rain in the air and temp is dropping.
Well the rain started about 9pmish and by midnight it was torrential.. hopefully we would not get flooded but who knows. We sleep well but when we open the tent door, the water is only about 5 feet away and it 4-5 inches deep. "Lucky".. says the site foreman!!!! "Lucky??? we reply, we nearly had to flipping row out" still never mind, they have a deal on the site that if you stay 2 nites you can have the third for half price, (and we do like a deal...lol) so we in book again, mistake really... but never mind.
We decide to drive up to Rockingham centre for the day and go and see Promethius in 3D. We spend the day sat drinking coffee, reading and chatting in Jamaica Blue(coffee bar) and then head off for the cinema about 4pm as we have tickets for Promethius! in 3D....
All I can say about the film is, is that it was made by Ridley Scott who made Alien and this is actually the lead up to Alien. The special effects are not bad, but the story line is weak and its not a film I would rave about.... still we've seen it now. So, its out of the flicks and we decide to go for meal in 'Outback Jacks'.... well bloody crap. 5 different waitresses all asked what we wanted to drink,!!!! we asked three times for the desert menu, Johns coffee was cold, the meal was nothing great, the mayonnaise -disgusting... and overall as I have said Crap!!!. We go up to pay and the lad on the till asks us how it was... so he got it !!! warts an all lol.... "not surprised tonite " he says and smiles as he gives us our receipt. oh I can feel a complaint coming on....... never mind, we have still had a good day and as far as we are concerned Jack can stay Out-back!!!!. We get outside and its raining... No surprise, so down the State Route 2 we go and back to Mandurah, into bed and we snuggle down for the nite.
Its now Wednesday morning and this time we really do need a flippin boat.... the water is only a foot from the door, its been raining all nite and the bike is sat in the biggest puddle ever. Even the the flipping ducks are bathing in it.... We get breakfast and decide to start packing to leave. Everything is wet, we are damp and we are not happy bunnies, but we eventually say our goodbyes and we are off, off to ??? well we don't know, but we are going to head towards Juriens Bay and take it from there..
Hello Mandurah Tourist park, we are back!!!
The Ducks try swimming in the site pool.. this little chap was actually swimming in the water, every time I went to take the photo he jumped out!!! so I gave up, I even tried threatening and calling out 'Orange sauce'... but that did not faze him and he still got out....
A view down the site, this is one of the cleanest and most well kept camps we have stayed on...
Ruby... all parked up and no where to go...ahhh
The new dining room suite lol...
Chef John.....in the camp kitchen..This is the nite of Fillet steak..yum yum..
Yes, definitely steak and it wuz scrummy....
Our new neighbour, pretty...

Making pancakes, more yum yum...
The view down the foreshore high street in Mandruah.
Oh wow is me lol.... Me taking the mick on the boardwalk in Mandurah..
Me and him = US ...... ahhhhhhh
Reading???? ummm, think my navigating has gone wrong somewhere... hahahaha
More Boardwalk...
This is where you make a wish and tell a secret cuz it stays there???? Dream on smithy lol.....
Oh my breaking heart....
Monkey see, monkey do!!!!!
The Boardwalk again...
Do you dare me????? Oh how wish I was flipping brave enough. xxxx hahahahaha
I told you water .... I told you it rained, and it rained....
and it rained ......
The morning we moved out or should I say we rowed out!!!!
Cheeky!!!!
Yep we were not the only bit flooded...
Once again, I am the navigator. We pull into a garage, to get a coffee and a cake each.
I decide to check my directions and ask a young girl in the queue, "oh she says you need to head towards Margaret River" "Well, even I know thats wrong cuz we were there flipping three months ago, its in totally the wrong direction, but this girl is convinced she is sending us in the right direction... The girl behind the till overhears her and shakes her head at me, as much as to say ignore her.... I know its wrong... so we decide to go with the flow and follow the road out of the station, which was a good move cuz it is the main route leading to Jurien Bay via the new Indian Ocean Drive. Juriens Bay is still some 200km away....The pod is loaded to its max, and the roof rack John made is also loaded, as we have now bought 2 chairs and a table hahahaha.....so off we trot again...back on the road.
After a pretty hair raising ride up the new Indian Ocean drive, with rain all the way and cross winds attempting to blow us off the bloody bike, we finally arrive at Juriens bay. Now I will let you make your own mind up about the camp as this weeks blog unfolds, but its not the best as you will see and if I had read the reviews regarding the tent facilities, we would not have even pulled in let alone booked in!!! But hey ho ......
We get booked in and set up on the site. We have been warned that the winds here are fierce and by the time the tent is up it was also pitch black, 5.45pm and we only has 15 minutes to get to the local store for some milk and bread (yes I know, its all about the tummys again!!!!) . We get some shopping and head up to the kitchen area for tontines dinner. We are having beans on toast, (mistake...) I will say no more but it was not just windy outside......hahahaha. So off to bed we go and boy was it windy, it flipping howled all nite, good job we were in the tent and the guy ropes held well cuz I reckon we cud of met the wizard of Oz!!!!. Anyway, we survived the nite and woke to sunshine and a lovely day (Thursday, today).
We decide to book in at a nite at a time(sunshine always makes you feel more positive), so off to the office we go to pay and book another nite. Then we walk down to the jetty and look out over the beaches and sea. Lovely, it really was. We treat ourselves to fish and chips, yes that was lovely too (shop recommended on Trip Advisor) and all is well with the world.
Anyhow long story short, this afternoon we did the weeks washing, the temp was dropping, so theres me sat in the tent with me hoodie and scarves on, freezin cold and next minute John disappears, 5 mins later he's back. He has bought a fan heater...... well I could not stop laughing, so in he plugs it and next minute, the hoodie is off, the scarves are off, the jackets off and we are sat in the tent, with the blow heater on full, flipping great!!!!.
So cheese sarnie and cup of tea had, 'The Block' watched (our favourite programme) and its back into the tent. Now baring in mind people are walking around the campsite with sleeping bags wrapped round them and the temp is about 2 degrees, you will smile when I say, we returned to our tent, unzipped the door and well..... it was lovely and warm. So here we are sat in the warm in our tee shirts, John is reading and I am writing this blog.... and everything is well...... well its all good.
So apart from a few piccies, its good nite from me and good nite from him. xxx
The Indian Ocean Drive, its only been open a month or so and we have rode it... cool eh??...only criticism is they never edge their main roads out here, its just aloud of gravel and usually a fair sized ditch!!! as the edging.
On the way to Jurien Bay...
More on route...
and more and yes that is sand dunes in the middle of the Bush...
WE arrive and its tent up.....
The view across the campsite..
The camp kitchen..
Jurien Bay Pier
John on the Pier
More Pier
Me on the Pier...
I can honestly say that all 5 showers were like this, good job I found a second shower block, cuz I wuz not impressed and I will make it know when we leave...
I am warm... nanananah.. me with my new little cosy friend.....look at that smile!
And so that brings us up to Thursday evening, we have watched The Block, written the Blog, had dinner, washed up. So here come the piccies and then its off to bed xxxx
Love to all our kids, we love and miss you all xxxx
