25th June, bye bye Jurien Bay, Helllllllloooooo Dongara....

Up at 8am, head out of the tent and YUK..... the sky is grey looking and there is defo rain in the air.... Now after our last move from Mandurah to here, John and I agreed that we would not move site if it was raining. Anyway... we have breakfast and then down it comes. Pitter patter pitter patter... on the tent, maybe it will be just a shower??? so we wait. Johns back to his Kindle and I'm on the net ( no change there...).
The couple next door to us call out 'bye' and they are off.  We look out the tent and we are the only people left in this half of the field. The rain seems to have stopped so we decide to miss out on showers and pack up while we can. All goes very well and we even have time for John to take the fan heather back and get it exchanged for one that does not sound like a small plane !!!!!. So bags packed, bike packed, pod packed, tank full and we are off. The couple next door had told us not to bother with Geraldton as a stay.. as its a shipping port and not especially nice. They suggested Dongara, its about an hour and a half further up the coast, so Dongara it is. Back on the Indian Ocean Drive we head, the wind blows, the rain beats down and we are fine unless we get a truck/road train in front or one going back the other way.  Boy do they move and throw up some crap... Luckily we only get a couple of them and I have it off to a fine art now, as I stick my head and helmet under Johns armpit each time one is near!!!!! ( A girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do).... Anyhow bang on time its 12.30 and we pull into Dongara Tourist Park. The wind is blowing again, the sea is choppy and its flipping raining. Anyway the chap in the office is lovely (proberly about 106 but lovely) and we soon choose a sheltered, grassed, powered site for us to hide away in.  The only problem here is, they have 100's of rabbits. The chap in the office tells the lady behind me to check her caravan before she leaves cuz, they have been know to hop in and end up on the other side of OZ.... Great!!!! thats all we need, bloody Roger Rabbit riding side saddle on the back of the bike.....

OK, tent up and its off into town to get food and stuff!!! Yes more food... Anyway shopping  done and we decide its lunchtime(3pm) the only place open is a fish a chip shop. So off we trot. The board says fish and chips, so I ask what fish ? "oh, Shark' says the girl. "Shark!" I repeat. "Thats good enough for me" says John, I being me settle for a fishcake... ( I know, I know, but I can't do bloody Shark!) anyway  long story short it was lovely≥... as was the shark. so next time Linda will be eating Shark and chips., lol.... Anyway..w e go back to the bike and my seat on the bike is all covered in bubbles..... YES bubbles. I can't work out what it is, then eventually the penny drops. I used a tissue in my pocket to dry the seat,  that I had used earlier to wipe the top of the shower gel bottle. Bit embarrassing to find bubbles on your bike seat..... best leave that conversation there...

Back to the camp and its really raining and blowing..... so we decide to cook up tomorrows chilli in the camp kitchen. All goes well, so its back to the tent, fan heater on, books and laptop out, chocolate bar in hand and all is well with the world. Its gonna be a quiet nite cuz there are no TV's here, still never mind, I have this weeks maggie ( at great expense, I might add!!) and John has his Kindle... so as usual here comes the piccies.

The road out of Jurien Bay... byeeeeeee

WE arrive at Domgara Tourist Park, here is our little hidey hole...tent up and all nice and snug....in the bushes again....no comments please.

The man..... Hope he's checked that Roger Rabbit has not jumped aboard..

Still no ships hahahaha....this is the view about 20 yards from our tent...

The view across the headland..

More views...

This path leads down to Dongara beach..

How cool is this pathway...

This is more of the path, which has been lined in marker buoys found stranded on the beach... cool....Now the girls in the local supermarket said that actually, where we are is Port Dennison, but hey ho the site is called Dongara Tourist park, the town board says Dongara, so Dongara it will be .....

And that folks is all. Love to ALL our kids xxxxx be good, and take care xxxx
