Well, now that the clocks have gone forward an hour and a half, the birds decide they can have a lay in all the way to 7.00 and if they can, we can. Time and tide wait for no man and theres work to be done. Lin does the honours and cooks the breakfast, crunchy nut cornflakes this morning, yummy. Right, that's the roughage and shower sorted, so on to the bike. Now I ain't got a clue whats the problem, so I opt for the pull the whole thing apart approach. Seat off, back rest off, radio out, side panels, gone, air filter out. OK, now this is getting silly, so time to try a new approach. Wiggle this lead, blow on that one, tighten a bolt here and there. Got to admit, I really didt feel I'm getting very far. I know..... I'll disconnect and loop the side stand switch, it may not be the problem, but at least its a possible. All this time, Lin's sitting there sewing with utter confidence that I'm getting to the root of the problem. I know, kicking the tyres and emptying the ashtrays might help. No ashtrays. Sod it. Just kick the tyres and perhaps no one will notice. OK, I'm out of options, I've wiggled all theres is to wiggle and blown on all the fuses, just have to put it all back together and pray for the best and just hope I've moved something back into place. The seat is one of the last things to refit and sits on top of the gas tank and I notice the connectors on the petrol pump are covered with tape. All right, I'll have a look. Bugger me, as I pull the tape off, the wire comes with it, the solder's broken clean away. Me heart soars, my wife's Faith in me has not been misplaced, Just like bob We can fix it. Yes, I am a real man, right, now were can I find a soldering iron.
After blagging a soldering iron off one of the maintenance crew and complete putting the bike back together, things get a little slow. I spend the next five hours catching up with the bloggy thing and watch the love of my life do lengths up and down the pool.(getting real fit that bird) Lin's gonna do tea tonight and I'm really looking forward to sausage carbonara. Oh well tomorrows another day.....
