Our Travel Adventures: 1st Nov, Home alone, shops and Sophie...Yeppoon

Seven O'clock and we're up. Got to run Diane and Ron to the airport this morning and I think their leaving a little early just to get out of the way 7.45 and we're out the door, forty minutes later we say our goodbyes.

Right, that's got rid of them two buggers and the house is ours for the next four weeks, That's if we can find the bloody place again, can say the signposting from Rocky to Yeppoon is not to great and what was a forty minute drive there, turns out to be a hour and a half back. Even when we find the town, we have trouble finding the road and I'm beginning to wonder how long it will take for a ball of fluff to starve to death. At last we find our temporary home and Oh look, the dogs still alive, so far we're on a roll.

We start our stay as we mean to go on and feed our faces. Sure as sh*t, we ain't gonna lose any weight on this trip. Fed and showered I find a empty spot in the shed and unload the bike and trailer. Christ, we're only got a small space to carry stuff and how we managed to get all this crap on, beats the hell out of me. The worry is, its still got to go back on at some point. While I'm scratching me head and wondering were all this stuff come from (like I don't know).... Lin's feeding the washing machine and prays it holds up, only a double sleeping bag and a quilt to go. So while the last loads (well, nearly last) on the go, we decide we'd better nip to the local shopping centre and do a shop (what else?). In the car and off we go, we can see the shops from here so getting back shouldn't be to bad. A hundred and fifty frigging bucks later and we've got about enough meals to last us for a couple of days. Right, now to find that sodding house again. Round and round we go, I'm starting to wonder if we've got enough food to make it back to the house, let alone for a few days. At last, by chance, we almost stumble over it. I think even the dog was worried and was really pleased to see us, I suppose the fact we hadn't fed her yet could have been a contribution.

Bags unpacked and dog fed, times marching on, so Lin does a wicked chicken korma and we settle down for an evening of Ozzie TV ...

More local fauna... so pretty.. dont know what they are though.
