Our Travel Adventures: 2nd, Nov, Home alone.... If yer can find it.... Yeppoon

Now, after God knows how long sleeping on the floor of a tent, yer'dd think a bed would be heaven, Well bloody well think again. I turned and turned (none of the other stuff) and couldn't get comfy. Me back hurt, me neck hurt, its easier to say what didn't hurt. Up at twelve, back at half one. It don't help kicking the dog in the dark, not to mention the icky sound it makes when it hits the wall..... Finally got to sleep as the sun was rising and got up shortly after it did. Bugger this.

Its gonna be a long day, I KNOW its gonna be a long day, I can just feel it in me bones. If I can just make it through till lunch time without biting the dog or throttling Lin, I think I'll make it.

Its a slow easy start to the day, lounge about, suck a grapefruit, more lounge about, Then Lin has an Idea, "lets pop into town and have a look round", Now after all the sh*t we had getting back in the car, it seemed like a bright idea to walk, as I've said we can see the shops from here. I suggest taking a ball of string and tying one end to the gate post. Lin told me I was being daft, but then thought it a good idea to take Sophie (the dog) just in case. We agreed the dog might stand a better chance on her own and off we went. Getting into towns no problem, The house is halfway up a hill and we just weave through the streets till we get there. In no time at all, Lin's nipping in and out the Op shops like each one holds a crock of gold, not just a load of crock. We walk the town, In fact we walk right out of the town just to get to the last Op shop. Ok, Lin's done and with a bag full of stuff she don't think I saw her buy, we head back home...... that is... if we can remember which way!. We make for the hill and get half way up. I say" up here", Lin says "no there". I don't fuc*ing believe it, we're lost again and we've got a frigging map. By now the temp's reached somewhere in the thirty's and we're on a bleeding hill that's nearly forty five degrees. I'm wondering how me hands would look round her neck and I know she's thinking about nipping back to the last Opp shop and picking up that neat little hand held axe. Quick as a flash, she goe's and bleeding asks someone. Got to give it to that girl, got smarts and would you believe it, we're one road down. I wonder if the local shops do delivery?
