It don't take long before the clouds disappear and the sun to come out. We go through the usual routine of taking over the kitchen and cooking a good old, full English breakfast. (sod the roughage). Its a quick shower and into town for a look round. Now things are a little different from the UK. Even though its Saturday, the shops close around midday and most don't open at all Sunday, so the panic's on to make sure we get round em all. Last stop is the supermarket were we stock up on vitals for the evening meal. (I'm going fishing later so you can bet fish wont be on the bloody menu).
Larder restocked, Lin gets out the needles out again so I get me bits together and to nip off to the jetty. Its only two k down the road, so its not long before I'm wobbling across the rocks that make up the breakwater, rod in one hand and me bait in the other ,(yer never alone when yer hands full of squid). Still, ain't a problem if I fall in, the waters nice and warm. I find a spot next to two lads and set me rod up, look across and notice their using a balloon as a float, ain't seen that before, next thing I know, the balloon has dived under the water and is making for the other side of the bay. The lad reels in and pulls out a two foot shark. Looks like I'll be taking it very easy walking back across them rocks and falling in has just been scratched off the option's list. Three sodding hours I sat out on them rocks and not a bleeding bite, at least the wobble back along the rocks became very interesting.......
Back on the site, Lin's had a great time, she's been out for a swim, then she's found the local gossip and got the dirt on the whole area, who needs celeb mags?
We have an early tea, (melt in the mouth steak and chow mien) cos tonight's Skype night. First ups Lin's bosom buddy Row, who sits there patiently listening to Lin make a phone call to the tax man. How bout that, the tax man and Row at the same time. All yer nightmares at once. With the tax man put in his place, its time to say goodbye to Row cos its getting dark and the bats are getting drawn to the computer screen. Next is the kids. Their all round the flat and we finally get a chance to say hello to our latest grandson, George, Olly's new brother. Its great to see and talk to the girls. What a wonderful way to end the day....
I look at some local art and it looks right back at me...
Some local fauna, John advises they 'Birds of paradise'
Bikers pull intom town, there were about 7 of these but I could only fit in these 3, they tend to spread when they park, and no ones gonna argue about that...hahaha
